Need Heavy Duty Hardware for Bypass Doors?
Heavy Duty Hardware for Bypass Doors
What Are Bypass Doors?
-
Bypass doors typically consist of two doors that slide past each other within the same opening.
-
Because there are fewer doors than in a bifold system, each door is usually wider.
Example:
-
A 6 ft (72") wide closet → two 3 ft (36") doors
-
In some custom installations, you can use three or more doors if needed.
Sizing Considerations
-
Openings may need to be slightly undersized to allow proper door overlap.
-
Alternatively, one door can be made wider to compensate.
Example:
-
A 5 ft opening may use:
-
One 32" or 30" door, depending on configuration
