Make sure to check out our Series 1 Bypass Track and Hardware kits. Bypass doors are a smart, space-saving solution for closets and other interior openings. Unlike bifold doors, bypass doors typically use two larger door panels that slide past one another within the opening. Because fewer panels are used, each door is usually wider.
For example, a 6-foot-wide closet opening would typically use two 3-foot-wide doors, each measuring 36 inches wide, to cover the full opening.
One important detail to keep in mind with bypass door installations is door overlap. In some cases, the opening may need to be slightly undersized, or one of the doors may need to be wider, so the doors overlap properly when closed. For example, a 5-foot-wide opening may use a 30-inch or 32-inch door depending on the desired fit and overlap.
Important Installation Note
The track and hardware require approximately 1 3/4 inches to 2 1/4 inches of space from the top of the door to the installed track location. The rollers are adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune the door height during installation.
