Multi-Fold Door Hardware: How to Choose the Hardware for Your Kits

HBP Series 1 multi-fold hardware lets you build a door system with multiple pairs of folding panels. It uses the same heavy-duty components found in our Series 1 bifold track and hardware systems.

A multi-fold system may be the right choice when your opening has more than four panels, with panels added in pairs, or when you want all the panels to fold toward one side.

The heavy-duty aluminum track supports smooth operation. Its enclosed box-style design helps keep the rollers on the track.

How to Order Series 1 Multi-Fold Hardware

1. Choose your track length

Measure the width of the doorway and select a Series 1 aluminum track long enough for the opening. The track can be cut to the length your project requires.

2. Count the Base Set A kits

Components included in the Series 1 Base Set A hardware kit

Base Set A provides the hardware for the first pair of panels on a folding side of the opening. The number you need depends on how the doors will open:

  • All panels fold to one side: Order one Base Set A kit.
  • Panels part in the middle and fold to both sides: Order two Base Set A kits, one for each side.

You will need no more than two Base Set A kits for one opening.

3. Count the Add-on Set B kits

Components included in the Series 1 Add-on Set B hardware kit

Order one Add-on Set B kit for each additional pair of panels beyond the first pair on each folding side. Set B includes an additional roller and the hinges needed to connect that pair to the system.

Ordering Examples

  • Three pairs of panels folding left: One Base Set A kit and two Add-on Set B kits.
  • Four pairs of panels parting in the middle: Two Base Set A kits and two Add-on Set B kits—one Set A and one Set B for each side.

Quick way to check your count: Start with one Base Set A for each folding side. Then add one Set B for every remaining pair of panels.
